Serving at Redeemer

There are loads of ways to serve at Redeemer and we'd love for you to get involved!

All roles operate on a rostered basis (i.e., you won't be asked to help every week).

Please let us know if you're keen to help; we'll get the ball rolling from there.

Name(s)
Welcoming
This involves arriving arriving at church at 9:00 – 9:15am to set up, and then (with a partner) manning the welcome desk on level 7 or welcoming people at the ground floor entrance. You'll also be responsible for packing the welcoming gear up after church, and may be asked to buy a free lunch for a newcomer (you will be reimbursed).
Follow-up
This involves dropping a friendly phonecall or email during the week to newcomers (or people we haven't seen for a while). The intention is to show love to all people who come through our doors as visitors, to see how they found their visit, and to invite them to come again (especially if they are unchurched!). You'll be trained and supported in doing this.
Music
This involves playing an instrument or singing to help lead the rest of us in singing to God together. This also involves coming to church at 9:00am to set up and practise (as well as practising alone during the week so you know your part). Please note which instrument/s you'd like to serve with. Don't worry if you don't have much experience playing in groups; we can help you!
AV
This involves arriving at church from 9:00am to set up the audio visual equipment for the day; you will also be responsible for helping things run smoothly during church and for helping to pack your gear up afterwards (you'd have help). No experience required, we will train and support you!
Packup (music/AV)
This involves helping the music and AV teams to pack away their gear from the day. This usually begins close to immediately after church finishes. We have a trolley to minimise the heavy lifting, and we will teach you how to disassemble all the gear.
Redeemer Kids (helper)
This involves assisting the Redeemer Kids teachers in caring for the children and delivering the program for the day. You will not have to plan any material, or do much prep—just follow the RK teacher's lead! This will involve leaving 'big church' when the kids leave. [You will need a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) and up-to-date safe ministry training to be involved with this. We can help you get these!]
Website
This involves updating and managing our church website. Your responsibilities may include: uploading the sermon onto the website (weekly), updating existing pages and designing/writing new pages. No experience or special skills required! We will train you in how to use Squarespace.
Other ideas
Some of these roles are less well defined right now, but if you have a gift or passion in any of these areas, we'd love to hear about it! Or if there's something you're keen for that we haven't named, please add it in.
